Based on MAXUS D90
The Gluster is based on the Maxus D90 SUV. The fully developed SUV is retired in China under the Maxus sub-brand of SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation).

In terms of dimensions, the MG Gloster is 5,005 mm in length, 1,932 mm in width and 1,875 mm in height respectively. It is 210 mm long, 77 mm wide and 40 mm long for the forerunner and 102 mm long, 63 mm wide and 38 mm long longer than the Endeavor. In fact, the MG Gloster has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm which is 205 mm and 100 times longer than the Fortuner (2,745 mm) and Endeavor (2,850 mm) respectively.

The new Glaister 7-seater premium SUV is to be launched in mid-2020 around May-June. It is basically re-rigged Maxus D90, currently on sale in the Chinese market.

Specifications
The MG Motors Gloster is powered by a new 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine, which was showcased at the Guangzhou Auto Show last year. This diesel engine has a claimed power of 218bhp and torque of 480Nm. It also gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that gives power of 224bhp and torque of 360Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The SUV comes with a 4WD system with a low range transfer case. It is available with 7 driving modes including Economy, Motion, Snow, Mud, Sandy, Rock and Automatic.

Design highlights
MG's new 7-seater SUV has a strong body built with aggressive styling. The front of the SUV features a black octagon grille with large MG Motors badges in the center, adaptive LED headlamps and a dual tone bumper with red inserts. Other styling elements include 17-inch to 21-inch, skid plate, black out B and C pillars, black ORVMs with red inserts and large dual-tone alloy wheels with black roof rails.

High-End Features
The range-topping MG Gluster SUV comes equipped with features such as adaptive LED headlights, LED DRLS, a panoramic sunroof, heated ORVM, gesture controlled tailgate, 3-zone climate control and ambient lighting. It has an 8.0-inch multi-info instrument cluster display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Internet and smartphone connectivity. The SUV gets leather upholstery and powered front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions.
