Five Quick Tips For MG Vehicles In India

MG Hector started the Indian innings of the prestigious British automotive market with a bang. The SUV was well received and made for more than 21,000 bookings. Hector has the perfect SUV features that have made it a hit with Indian customers.

It looks butch and modern, which makes you want to give it a second glimpse.

It is quite large and comfortable with exceptional legroom and class-leading 587 liters of boot space, making it the perfect companion for that long vacation!

The 2.0-liter diesel engine gets class-leading power figures, while the 1.5-liter petrol comes with a 48-V mild hybrid system for torque boost and 12 percent additional fuel efficiency.

Price for currency pricing. The Hector range starts at Rs 12.18 lakh and goes up to Rs 16.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The main talking point in this smart SUV is the 10.4-inch vertical stacked infotainment system that comes with i-SMART connected-car technology. In addition to your regular Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, it boasts over 50 connected features. Some of these can make your life easier on your daily commute.

All MG Vehicles In India sectors are equipped with an i-smart infotainment system that comes with an embedded Airtel 4G SIM. Thanks to the e-SIM, your Hector is connected to the Internet and external servers. This makes Hector a connected car.

Voice command based features activation:

Hector's infotainment system features voice command based feature activation. This can be activated through a button on the steering wheel or simply by saying the keyword 'Hello MG'. And here is the party trick: Unlike other models where you can only activate certain features of infotainment, you can operate some key features of Hector using voice commands. For example, you can open and close the sunroof, cool or heat the cabin, and change songs using voice commands. It is not that. You can also tell Hector to navigate through voice commands. All this while keeping your hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road. And to top things off, the voice command system designed by Nunes understands the Indian accent quite easily.

Pulse Hub:

Your Hector's SIM card can send information to Pulse Hub which is a command center set up by MG. It is useful in various situations. For example, if you are visiting a new city and want to know places of interest, you can ask Pulse Hub for assistance. It will then display the navigation route on the infotainment system. Then there are situations where the pulsing hub is also useful in case of emergency.

In the event of an accident, information is sent to the pulsing hub and a call is sent to the head unit. If there is no response, it calls the owner's primary number and then a call to emergency services. And if you need any general or roadside assistance, you can call Pulse Hub at the touch of a button.

Audiophiles Fun

Missed your phone or pen drive and don't want to listen to that boring radio. Hector has you covered here as well. Its infotainment system is pre-installed with Gaana, an online music streaming service. Thanks to the presence of E-SIM, you can now stream your favorite music online or download them to an infotainment system for 16GB of onboard storage. In addition, Hector also comes with factory pre-loaded materials and can be refreshed with every update received over the air (OTA). To top-up, the awesome-sounding 8-speaker Infinity system deals here.

Online Navigation:

Admit it: Using Google Maps on your phone drains your phone's battery. To prevent this, you can navigate to your destination using Hector's online navigation system operated by TomTom. Thanks to its online functionality, you get route updates, alternative route planning, live traffic and parking options depending on the destination. It also provides you with information like the nearest fuel pump and location-based speed alerts. And as mentioned above, Pulse Hub comes to your aid when you need any questions about places of interest.

Over-the-air Update:

It may not sound important like others. But thanks to the Over the Air (OTA) update, your infotainment system is always up to date. Also, with OTA updates, you get additional features if offered, more personalization options, free content and a snapper interface. Last but not least, to make your life easier, new voice commands will also be added to the system with every update.

Apart from the infotainment system, some of Hector's connected features can also be controlled from the i-SMART app on your phone. This includes the geofencing, remote lock and unlock, my car function in case of theft, pre-cooling, and heating function, tracking and stabilizing the vehicle. You can also see important statistics and vehicle health functions through the smart app.

As seen above, the 10.4-inch infotainment system with the i-Smart feature has plenty of features onboard, making your life behind the wheel completely easier. Coupled with enough space for five more powerful engines, the Hector is the perfect SUV for those who want an all-rounder at the cost of money.

MG Motor India is set to introduce more models down the line. The all-electric eZS SUV next to the British manufacturer is to be launched in December. In 2020, the manufacturer will also launch a 7-seater version of Hector.
