MG Motor India announces hunt for affordable ventilator to help fight coronavirus

Automaker MG Motor India said on Thursday that it has started to look for a rapidly producing ventilator design to serve patients infected with the coronavirus. The company has allocated 1 million rupees for the best design concept.

MG Motor India said in a statement that the automaker will also provide production support for the proposed ventilator prototype at its Halol manufacturing plant to ensure rapid market deployment.

The president of MG Motor India said: "The COVID-19 pandemic has created an urgent need for ventilators to take care of the growing number of patients.  There is an extreme shortage of ventilators in the country and available ventilators are very expensive." MD Rajeev Chaba Say.

He stated that MG Motor India is committed to fighting this epidemic. New Car Brands in India, He said: "Incentives for medical innovation by providing financial support to the most viable prototype is the most effective way to serve the community."

The company said that after evaluation by a team of medical experts, the best fan design concept will receive MG Motor India's Rs 1 million in funding.

The automaker has requested to submit these entries under the MG Developer Program & Grant on its website.

The company said: "In order to meet the urgent need to rapidly deploy affordable ventilators, the last date to submit an application is April 15, 2020."
