The Latest Electric Cars Rise
Historically speaking, electric vehicles began in the 1900s, but it was not until the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century that the development of electric vehicles was truly realized. At the beginning of this century, gasoline prices began to rise, and President Bush began to issue statements encouraging automakers to find alternative fuel sources in order to release our dependence on foreign oil. This is a good suggestion, and it sounded just as good when President Reagan talked about the maintenance of foreign oil companies in the United States in the 1980s. Fast forward to 11/8/10, the two major Nissan and Chevrolet car companies will release two fully electric cars for public use. MG calls their car "Leaf" and Chevrolet calls its car "Volt". Obviously, Nissan is pursuing the "green" image behind its cars, and Chevrolet is trying to maintain its "power" brand through this latest electric cars model. The two cars are ...
